DHS Secretary meets with Border Agents in Yuma, Arizona

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen was in Yuma, Arizona Thursday where she met with agents from US Customs and Border Protection as well as US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.  

She also hosted a roundtable with local law enforcement, local elected officials as well as representatives to hear their views on the matter.

Nielsen says she wants to be able to assess the department's emergency response and efforts to use federal government resources.  

She also reviewed the implementation of measures announced early this week to reassign port-of-entry personnel to better cover the border.
President Trump has warned Mexico that if they do not do something to help stop the flow of human and Drug trafficking, he will close the border. At a meeting with China's top trade negotiator in the Oval Office Thursday President Trump told reporters that He will slap tariffs on Mexican imports if that doesn’t work he will close the border

President Donald Trump on Friday will visit the U.S.-Mexico border at Calexico, California, where he will tour the 30-foot section of replacement border fence installed last year, according to the White House.
