President Donald Trump Honors Fallen Police Officers

Wednesday, President Donald Trump honored the 228 law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty last year at the 38th annual National Peace Officers' Memorial Service on Capitol Hill. The President Addressed an audience that included many family members of the fallen.

May 15 is Peace Officers Memorial Day, first designated by President John F. Kennedy in 1962. The event takes place during National Police Week, which draws between 25,000 to 40,000 attendees to our Nations capitol. The attendees come from departments throughout the United States as well as from agencies throughout the world. Currently, tens of thousands of law enforcement officers from around the world converge on Washington, DC to participate in several planned events which honor those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice.
