The BL News NATO Secretary General visits The Pentagon
Acting Secretary of Defense Patrick Shanahan welcomed NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg to the Pentagon Monday
At the top of the agenda is international security and troops in Afghanistan.
the U.S. envoy to Afghanistan told the New York Times that American and Taliban officials have agreed in principle to the framework of a peace deal with the insurgents.
The deal, the envoy said, could lead to full pullout of American troops in return for a cease-fire and Taliban talks with the Afghan government.
Shanahan and Stoltenberg would not respond to any specifics on a deal, but said 'we are in Afghanistan to create conditions for a peaceful negotiated solution."
