President Trump Rally in El Paso Texas

President Trump kicked off his 2020 re-election campaign in El Paso, Texas Monday night talking about recent construction on a barrier along the Rio Grande, which separates the U.S. and Mexico.

The President also talked about the economy and the military.

President Trump commented about the Green New Deal rolled out last week by Democrats, calling it a massive government takeover.

The rally began moments after negotiators on Capitol Hill announced that lawmakers had reached an agreement in principle to fund the government ahead of a midnight Friday deadline to avoid another shutdown.

Republicans tentatively agreed to far less money for Trump's border wall than the White House's $5.7 billion wish list, settling for a figure of nearly $1.4 billion, according to congressional aides. The funding measure is through the fiscal year, which ends Sept. 30. Now they will need the support of Trump, who must sign the legislation.
