The BL News-President Trump Receives Shamrock Bowl from Irish PM

President Donald Trump received a Shamrock Bowl as part of day-long festivities with Ireland's Prime Minister Leo Varadkar to celebrate an early St. Patrick's Day.

The Shamrock Bowl tradition dates back to President Harry Truman when the Irish ambassador to the U.S. dropped off a box of shamrocks in honor of St. Patrick's Day.

Varadkar then met with Trump in the Oval Office earlier on Thursday, followed by an annual Capitol Hill luncheon for the Irish hosted by the House speaker.
